Teaching focus: Medieval and humanistic Latin literature, Latin composition
Trained at the Scuola Normale Superiore (PhD), École normale supérieure in Paris, and at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Collaboration on a number of international research projects under the aegis of several institutions including European Research Council, Harvard University, Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, and Gerda Henkel Stiftung. His most notable publications include a critical edition of Favonius Eulogius’ Disputatio de Somnio Scipionis (D’Auria 2012), a volume titled Il latino e il ‘volgare’ nell’antica Roma (Edizioni della Normale 2015) and Latin editions with Italian translation and commentary for Giannozzo Manetti’s De dignitate et excellentia hominis (Bompiani 2018) and for Leonardo Bruni’s Oratio Heliogabali ad meretrices (Nino Aragno 2020). In 2019 he was named a regular member of Academia Latinitati Fovendae under the direction of Prof. Dr. Dirk Sacre.
