Free Seminar in Ancient Greek, Saturday 17 May, 2025, h. 18:30 CEST, ZOOM.
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Rogerus Byzantinus and Schola Humanistica invite all ancient Greek enthusiasts to this seminar devoted to the daily life, idleness and pastimes of Homeric heroes and Herodot’s Etruscans. We will talk about baths, the game of dice and checkers, the semantic field of παίζειν and other items related to pleasure and pastimes. To cap off the evening, the two speakers will compete live at a game that will be revealed only at the end of the reading session.
